Verus Deus est Diligo
If reality was formed from mere elements, sculpted by chance, accident, and happenstance alone, it is doubtful that it would have resulted in such a beautiful and grand order that we observe today. But God is no human conceived and understood architect. The central sense of God is that of an amazing, enlivening presence. God is not only First Cause and Source, but the very fabric of existence. God manifests and is woven through everything there is.
We struggle with understanding the creative process of the divine, as well we should. But there are clues to this reality in the very nature that God exists within. We look deeply at the unintentional, but freely and naturally developing patterns of nature, the way autumn leaves fall on the ground, the shape of a snowflake, the amazing vista of a mountain valley, and we sense a deep awe and wonder and delight at the beauty of these things. They were not carefully crafted from plans on some grand design board in the sky. They were crafted from the freely developed and freely guided forces unleashed since the beginning of time from the Big Bang Inflation - a divine and natural creative event. The forces and elements and structures of nature formed themselves, but out of divine energy. And they formed themselves with divine and natural processes. Accident, happenstance, coincidence, chaos, evolution, natural selection, these are not unholy ideas that nonbelievers use to support their view of the fallacy of religion, rather, they are themselves divine forces of creation, just not in the way we usually think about it. This is the way that divine Love operates on the Cosmic scale. All things created this way naturally, without intention, have at their core, the great mysterious divine enlivening spirit. This spirit, this pure cosmic Love - that being not just partial to humans, but to all that exists, is the central manifesting force and creative energy of existence.
Love is a wonderful idea that helps us to get a bit of a sense of the intrinsic or inner quality of God. We see the great beauty. We feel the great wonder. We are awed by the presence of what is around and within us, (though we do not often give it much attention.) We have a great thought, a great guiding idea; "If you Love something,... somebody, set it free!" We must realize that we are set free. We have always been set free. The whole Universe is set free. The Infinite Realms of Reality are set free. Why? Because, Love itself is the true nature of God. Love, not human Love, not emotional Love, not Hallmark card Love, but limitless, infinite, eternal Love, is the true source of all that is. It is constantly manifesting reality out of itself, within itself, around itself, and it does so without intention, without personal consciousness, with no attachments or conditions to or for anything. It is a pure, constant, impersonal, emanating source.
We should not be so disappointed by this idea. We may not have human style personal conscious care from a supreme being, but we have something better,... we are made of supreme being, and are always connected with it through the core of our being. That is the real good news! We are living, manifested, cosmic Love. That's right, the very Love that God is, is us. We are not all of God, that is arrogant, ridiculous thinking. We are not more special than any other being or group of beings to God. That is also ridiculous, limited, wishful thinking... pure fantasy. Why, because God that is in all, is in all, there can be no favorites. Everything and everybody that exists has been chosen, in a natural way, by the divine to have existence. Everything that is, is supposed to be here. And the true reality of what we are is greater than our imagining. What we are made of is greater than our knowing. This great mystery ultimately persists. It is the ultimate satisfying and meaningful awareness. This is why life is so precious and we are so precious. This is why we should not set ourselves to demean or devalue anyone or anything on any superficial basis. This is why we should greatly value and have continuing reverence for life. This is why we may fill ourselves with the full awareness of reality that we as humans are capable of, and be at peace, and be at contentment for our fundamental state of being.
With this awareness, now, we can set ourselves to bringing up out of ourselves the deep wonder of our being. We can devote ourselves to bringing our own personal and unique manifestation of Love to life, with the very precious little time we have left in this never again to be repeated form and life span. The True God is Love and Love is the truth and essence we have to live for and express with our lives every day, every now.
