The Needs of the Heart

From the depths of our heart, comes the truth of our needs. For we are nothing less than priceless creations of God's Love. We are made of the Love of God. Everyone of us is unique, freely and exquisitely fashioned by the hand of Nature (which is the hand of God) and we are supposed to be here. We are here to be unique, individual expressions of God's Love. This is the sacred truth of our existence, for in our being we give unique expression to Gods Love.

In order to be the unique priceless expressions we are in this life, we must honor, nurture, and respect ourselves, our humanity, and the great promise of our lives. To grow and to develop in order to best express the riches of our heart, we must meet our needs, the deep needs of our heart.

We need to be loved for the unique being we are. We need to have our individuality honored and respected. Our feelings speak the truth of our heart, therefore our feelings are important. The things we love and that create passion in our souls, are part of the very fabric of our being, they are part of who we are and we need to express these things. The people who honor us with their love and respect, guidance and affirmation, are vital to our spirit and our mental health - we need to have these people in our lives. We are human beings, we make mistakes, we do the wrong thing. We need to be encouraged to learn from our errors and we need people to be patient with us to do this. If we are condemned or belittled for our errors, we become demoralized and resentful, then our troubles are apt to grow.

We need what we need in order to stay open in mind and in heart, so that darkness and malice will not take root and grow within us. So that we do not become cynical, apathetic, insensitive and filled with a long burning anger. We need to become aware of the priceless value of every person, every being, every creation, so that we become rightly oriented toward ourselves and others.

We need to be able to resolve our differences, so that each of our needs are heard, recognized, considered, and then accommodated as well as can be done.

All of our true needs are of Love. For in honoring the value of ourselves and others, we truly do Love with a love beyond our own self-serving means and ends. In learning and honoring what needs we have to be the fullest possible expression of unique ourselves, we fulfill the promise of what we could be - giving life to a greater and more wondrous total reality of God and Love.
