The Great Potential

Within a certain way of seeing the manifestation of divine creation in nature, it seems possible that things were created without intention or plan for their purpose.  It does seem as though the divine passion, or essence, is endlessly creating all possible forms of itself, displayed in the grand and endless variety of nature.  It is possible perhaps, that the simple purpose for our existence, is, that we just exist.  But I believe, given the natural advances of human brain evolution, that we have a wonderful potential that transcends our apparent simple purpose to survive.  It seems to me to be an astounding wonder of consciousness that we can be aware of what we are, and that we can be aware of the larger reality we exist within.  From this larger perspective, we have perhaps a clearer view of what is important.  To me, it seems that the ability to be aware of the possible oneness of existence, of the fleeting preciousness of all created forms, of the indescribable beauty inherent within every created thing, is itself an amazing and wondrous gift that has been bestowed upon us.

And with this development, the amazing, exciting possibility that we all have as human beings, is that we may act from this larger awareness in ways that honor the priceless value of all creations of the divine.  This is my sense of what higher love is truly about.  It seems to me to be a noble opportunity for us to rise above our inherited focus and preoccupation primarily with our own existence in meeting our own needs,  to extend ourselves with love, compassion, and care to other beings and to also express a reverence for the sacred nature of life.  This truly is an evolution of awareness and consciousness for us.  This is the capacity that provides us with great hope for our future as a species.  Our true salvation will come from our ability to access and express the transcendent love within our hearts.  This truly is the way that the divine will allow us to overcome ourselves, with continuing respect for our free will.  The great meaning and purpose that we are capable of rests profoundly in our capacity to love.  This is our greatest and enduring potential.
