The Great Revelation
The great evolution of religious thought occurred with the coming of Jesus Christ. Contrary to the earlier Judeo-Christian conception of God, which far too well reflected base human demeanor and personality, Jesus taught about a divine nature which instead reflected love, compassion, tolerance, and forgiveness. These represent a consciousness which is not limited by human frailties, human judgment, and human desire. We are created in the image of God, which is a likeness - but not a superficial similarity. We are in the image of God as far as our consciousness is concerned. For God truly must be a consciousness that surpasses all limits and form. Jesus demonstrated the true way of God as Loving consciousness, by how he dealt with everyone he came across. Even with the money-changers in the temple, he expressed the divine passion to remain true and pure to Love and to turn over those who would sully that reality with superficial desire.
How can we know that the true nature of God is love? First, we must try to greatly expand our awareness and understanding of Love. We must try to see it as a pure and free cosmic expression, not tied to any intentional aim or will. We must try to imagine it as pure joy and beauty (even though it is ultimately indescribable and undefinable) - and this we can do as we reflect upon the beauty of the universe and life itself.The natural processes of life and creation, including evolution and chaos, and all the physical forces, reflect a source of creation that produces constant change. Life freely interacts with itself, naturally creating the forces and processes that continue to evolve all that is. Evolution is the result of the constant interaction and interrelationship of life with it's own being. In the principle of Chaos,there are natural ordering processes that freely arise within that chaos to create order and form. This illustrates the beauty and nobility of the divine heart, the divine source. The fact of evolution, chaos, chance - do not prove that there is no need for God, they prove that God is Love and that this Love is free to create whatever it will through natural evolution and constant change. This fundamental Love is so powerful, so radiant, so beautiful, it compels itself to create existence - and that Love allows the freedom of creation to further its own creation, without intention or planning, but free exercise - constantly, in the perpetual now. Such is the nature of a Love we can barely understand, and it is more beautiful and wondrous than anything we have ever or will ever imagine.
This is the great message and revelation of Jesus, who tried to convey these ideas to people in a time when there was little true awareness of the basic properties of life and creation in the natural world. He used metaphor and symbolism, parables - to convey a sense of his meaning that they could or were able to understand. Now, since his time, many have misinterpreted his revelation, and have added their own biases and perceptions. The great Christian message and religion has been co-opted and contaminated by politics and provincial morays and dogma, for the purposes of power and control. It has been hijacked to exercise emotional manipulation of humanity through fear, using the threat of eternal punishment or separation from God to coerce people to believe the way they want them to believe. This has and continues to have tragic consequences for all of humanity affected by these actions and intentions. In a way, the faith has all too often become "Ungodly," and inhumane. Much of the religion has sadly continued to reflect human weakness and desire, instead of divine principle and purpose. But, the true message of Jesus, the great revelation, has prevailed, in a way, over time - the main message has been safeguarded by the pure eternal divine radiance and truth - because it always speaks for itself in beauty, wonder, and heart-felt presence and it cannot be undermined by any superficial interpretation or manifestation. God is Love, this is the truth we can know and have faith in. There is not eternal state of punishment or separation from God, because there is nothing other than God, nothing other than Love. All that seems other than God, is apparently divergent on the surface. All evil is human created from human ignorance, unawareness, and insensitivity. At the core, all things are Love - and the perpetual change created from this love undoes every superficial manifestation or effect. Love, overcomes all that it is not, for it is - now and forever.
