I Am More

Deep within, I am the endless fire

I am the infinite flame, radiating through eternity

I do not die, that I am, and on and on, I go

I arise in this human life as a being aflame

I burn only here, for a short time

But still, my light goes on and on

I am more than my body

I am more than what has been done to me

I am more than what I have done

I am more than what is wrong with me

I am more than any illness, I may have

I am more than any pain I may feel

I am more than any mistakes I have made

I am more than any addiction, I have been afflicted with

I am more than what I myself, or anyone else, thinks of me

no matter what life has brought to me

no matter what, I must endure

I am more

and when I am dead and gone from this life

I will still be more…
