Life Brought Me Here

I may not have been planned or desired

an afterthought at best

but life brought me here, anyway

to join in the dance with the rest

oh yes, I could’ve been better

a much finer human being

But I have made many, many mistakes

good, bad and all in between

At times, I’ve been a bit of a scoundrel

somewhat less than a saint

always being just who I am

I could be much better, but “ain’t”

And there sure are many much better

More deserving their place than mine

but Life has brought me here anyway

so the fact that I’m here, is just fine

You may think that you are an error

a mistake of cause and effect

But life has brought you here anyway

so stand up and have some respect!
