The Natural Morality

With an awareness of true love, our consciousness frames a more clear vision of reality. Our perspective with this awareness; allows a greater appreciation and gratitude for life and all things therein, as well as a natural reverence for life and its myriad creations. This reverence exemplifies a natural respect for life and also a respect for the preciousness and dignity of the creations of life. In some Native American traditions, there is a practice which recognizes the value of nature; thanking the animal whose life has just been taken for food or sustenance. For in a balanced perspective, we recognize that while we must destroy plant and animal life to sustain ourselves, we also remember that we ourselves are not truly apart from the life we feed upon. We recognize from this awareness, that the resources of earth are not unlimited and that they require ongoing conservation to maintain balance. We recognize that we cannot degrade the value or dignity of others without doing the same to our own. We recognize that if we degrade or reject the humanity of others we also degrade and reject our own.
We have evolved beyond our past brutish nature in terms of perceptual capacity. The human advance and capability of our minds enable us to have a clearer, more objective view of reality. We can see the one small world we all inhabit within the vast empty reaches of space, and know that it is better for us to cast aside our small provincial ideas of separation and differentiation in this big picture in order to better live and work together. This natural morality, arising from insight gained by bare, simple perception, is available to us all from within our nature. We do not really need external commandments or religious precepts if we can awaken to what is. Barring severe brain function incapacity, we all can awaken to a clearer realization of life. We can gain true reverence, gratitude, and appreciation of the gift and wonder of life and all natural manifestations therein. This ability does not negate the need for God, but verifies the presence of God in our very consciousness. For God is very much alive and present within our clear understanding, compassion, tolerance, equanimity, gratitude, and reverence. For when we see life through eyes of Love, we see all things the way that God sees them.
